Bear Handle Patch Knife

#77 Bear Handle Patch Knife
The Blade is 2-7/8" long, The Handle is approx. 4-3/4"
Making the total length approx. 6-5/8"

This Norwegian Styled Solingen blade has a high luster polish, it really almost looks like chrome. This little knife makes a great patch knife, I use one myself and even with running the edge over the muzzle of my rifle repeatedly, cutting patches, it still
keeps a good edge.

The section of antler I used to carve was off of a young buck with forked antlers and no brow tines. The antler was still attached to the skull which gave me a good chunk of bone to carve into the bear head.

Before inserting the tang section of the blade
into the mold I file a couple of grooves into the tang so when the blade is inserted into the mold and polymer poured over it, the blade will not be able to slip out during use. The section of antler between the blade and the bear head is stained with a block printer's ink, then when it's dry we put 3 coats of clear poly over the ink to make sure it doesn't wear off, 3 coats is what they recommend on wood floors that you walk on so I figure your knife handle should hold up to a little handeling.
